Live Chainstitch Pop-Ups

Hey, You Made It!

If you scanned this from a flyer, you’re probably looking for the pop-up details. Or wondering what chainstitching even is!

Have you ever seen old school mechanic workwear, military uniforms, or even varsity jackets that have cursive script depicting names, titles, etc.? That's all done by hand on old school machines! Chainsititching is the original form of embroidery before technology advanced to the computerized machines we have today. These machines are guided under the table using a crank, where you steer the direction of the thread. Similar to an etch-a-Sketch!

Drift Stitch Supply does custom chainstitch embroidery on a vintage hand-cranked machine, stitched live while you wait. Bring your own denim, canvas, jackets, totes, hats, bandanas, and more, or shop available blanks at the event.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I bring to get stitched?

Examples of What You Can Bring:

  • Denim Jackets

  • Canvas Tote Bags

  • Bandanas

  • Work shirts

  • Aprons

  • Other sturdy fabric items

*Thin, stretchy, heavily textured, or very delicate fabrics may not be a good fit.*

Not sure if your item will work? Bring it by and I’ll take a look.

Do I need to sign up ahead of time?

Most pop-ups are first come, first served unless the event flyer says otherwise. If you’re coming for something specific or bringing a larger item, arriving earlier is always a good idea.

Can I shop Drift Stitch items at the pop-up?

Yes! Select ready-made goods, blanks, patches, bandanas, totes, and other items may be available depending on the event.

How long does it take?

Timing depends on the size and detail of your design, plus how many people are waiting. Simple lettering or small designs are usually quicker, while larger pieces may take more time.

Can I choose my own design or wording?

Yes! You can choose your wording, thread color, and placement. Some events may also have flash designs, lettering options, patches, or blanks available to choose from.

What if I scan this after the event is over?

You can still use this page to find future pop-ups, shop online, or follow along on Instagram for the next event announcement.
